Anne-Laure “Anlo” Schmitt-Olivier
Intellectual Property Specialist
Anne-Laure “Anlo” Schmitt-Olivier holds a B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry and a graduate degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Strasbourg, France. She is a registered U.S. Patent Agent.
Before joining UNM, Anlo spent nearly seven years at the Office of Technology Commercialization and Management at Florida International University, where she evaluated and managed invention disclosures, primarily in the life sciences. She also trained researchers and staff on patenting and commercialization processes. Her responsibilities included marketing technologies, negotiating agreements (including licenses and options), managing relationships with commercial partners, and interfacing with outside patent counsel.
Previously, she worked as a Patent Specialist at Ward and Smith, P.A., gaining experience in patent preparation and prosecution in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and materials science fields. She also served as a Patent Analyst at Global Patent Solutions, where she assessed the patentability of international patent applications.
In her free time, Anlo enjoys reading, cooking, snowboarding, and traveling.
