Algae Analytics operates experimental photobioreactors, develops sensor systems, and provides consulting for breweries, farms, and climate-tech partners.
Business Development Intern – Market Strategy & Partnerships
One to two highly self-motivated individuals who are interested in developing a non-traditional marketing playbook are encouraged to apply. We are executing a highly specific, community-driven “direct-to-devotee” launch for our commercial product, Algae Aura. The goal is to build an organic, science-backed cult following (similar to early Glossier) utilizing grassroots digital channels, waitlist scarcity, and community management.
If you thrive in non-traditional, highly organic digital community building and want to execute a modern, lean marketing plan, then this is the ideal opportunity for you.
We Are Looking For
- Community Builders over Advertisers: We are looking for people who understand grassroots digital growth (like Reddit, Discord, and niche social communities) rather than traditional paid ad campaigns.
- Translators over Promoters: Ideal candidates love transparent storytelling. They should be excited by the idea of taking real science and translating it into engaging, authentic stories for our customers.
- The “Anti-Marketing” Mindset: Applicants should thrive on treating customers like partners rather than just targets in a sales funnel.
Project: Building the Algae Aura Launch Network in New Mexico
Responsibilities
- Research and profile 30–50 potential retail or spa partners (e.g., Santa Fe, Taos,
Albuquerque, T-or-C).
- Draft partner briefs and intro scripts for “Spa-as-a-Lab” collaborations.
- Contribute to a hyper-local launch plan with pricing tiers and wholesale models.
- Maintain CRM and help map connections between skincare, agriculture, and CO₂
- Co-author a brief: “Path to First Revenue—Building a Circular Skincare Brand in New
Mexico”
